When you read the title, do you think Notion can automatically help you handle home-related issue? For sure the answer is no, but Notion can still help you create a schedule to record the expense (e.g. water/electricity/gas bill). Perhaps you can also record the electrical applicant bought and the respective warranty status.
After the last tutorial, you should be more familiar with setting up the form and creating different columns. Similarly, you can create a file name/ date/ price/ frequency/ tag/ company to record those home-related issue. This time, I would like to elaborate more about the importance of adding tag and company.
Tag is used to categories the expense e.g. necessity, entertainment, maintenance etc.
Electricity/ water/broadband bill are necessary expenses, while you are required to pay the bill every month. If someday you are required to repair any part of your home (e.g. water-tap is broken or buy new furniture), you can add a tag for maintenance. Once you follow the step to fill in all the columns, you will be able to get an overview on your monthly expense. And it is more convenient for you to search back the record of specific month or date.
Just like what has been mentioned above, adding a row for company will help you categories the expense based on the company. E.g. broadband service in Hong Kong may probably provided by HKBN or PCCW.
By doing so, you can record the miscellaneous expense easily.
And here comes to the electrical applicant category. Since I have been using different gadgets (hope to share with you guys later on :P), it is time consuming to find out the receipt or locate where it is. Therefore, I decide to create a form to jot all this down.
Within the form, you can create gadget name, status, purchase date, allocation and company.
Adding a row for "allocation" is because some gadgets may be purchased for family member or borrow to friends. A row for "date" is to remind yourself when the gadget is bought. What's more, Notion provides a function to monitor the status of the gadgets. Under this setting, you can be more aware if any of the gadget has been using for a while (e.g. after certain years).
